New Pics of Silver Lake, Dover, Delaware, at Night

Here are some new pics of the lights and reflections on Silver Lake I took tonight. There was a lot less wind so these are sharper. I haven't decided if I like the really sharp bulbs or the slightly blurry and larger more impressionist painting looking ones.

2 More

Here is a favorite one of Darby, and the re-do of the house in Camden. I like the sky better for the new Camden Pic.

Darby likes to play!

Here is my Sister in Law's dog, Darby. She's a pretty Black Lab that loves to play. These came out OK

A few more from the fog

Here are a few more I did the other day, they are actually my favorites. I couldn't get picassa to upload them for some reason.

NO O NO INs around here!

It was a little foggy tonight as I got off work, when I got back later, the fog had kind of dissipated, and left me the first two shots. After that I went out on the highway and noticed the restaurant sign. Spelling is not important when serving food!

Camden Delaware Christmas Lights

I was making a Wallys run the other night and saw these 2 homes in Camden that I wanted to try to get some pics of. The one on Main Street is much older than the other one. I might have to go back and see if I can't get sharper pics... I like the one with the lights going by, it can either be a metaphor for the speed with which the year is passing, or it can just be a cool pic. I like the one with the street light too. It reminds me of a painting, I think by Hopper, of a diner at night. Now I'll have to google that painting!

Photshopping the horses

I've been thinking the horses would look better if they were 'free', that is no fences around them. I think I did a decent job photoshopping the fences out.

Dew on the Web on the Web

I cleaned up the photos from earlier today and cropped out the branch. Now there is an abstract looking photograph. I think it has a high "cool" factor and makes a cool desktop. Posted by Picasa

Horse Pics Again

Here are some photographs from this afternoons picture session. I had fun, but the horses are a little past their prime picture taking period with their winter coats so formal shots were out. These are some more casual photos from a typical beautiful warm fall day though.

The brown one is an Arabian. He has a very regal look. The Paint is part quarterhorse and part Paint. Both were dirty and the hair wasn't 'picture perfect'. This picture is what I think of when I think of horses. If I get energetic I might try to photoshop out the fence.

Look at them running free in the pasture!

This is a very handsome Black Lab that Cindy's friend owns. What a great dog!

Dew Drops

Here is the pic I talked about earlier. It's nice enough, but I like the cooler temperature blue version a lot better. It's that whole artist thing!

Foggy Morning II

I went out for another shot at some foggy morning pictures. These were from the field where I took the last pics. The trees still didn't suit me, but these pics of dew on spider webs did. I'm fascinated with the unseen or unnoticed world around us, and here is a spider world that I haven't thought much about.

This is small portion of a field of many acres, all covered in these webs. That makes me think there must be millions of spiders in here...

I changed the color temperature on this and loved how the blue came out. I'll post an un-manipulated version in a few minutes.

This was the end of a soy bean stalk, about the size of a ping pong ball. I like how the world is upside down in the bigger droplets. Posted by Picasa

Natural Light Portraits

I took some pics today using natural light and no flash. These are the ones that came out best, especially considering that I didn't check all the settings on the camera first...

Bill looks much more serious here than he did about a half a second later as he broke into a big smile.

A nice smile and profile

Mary and Tim were messing around in the kitchen as Tim pointed out the significant difference in their heights. I like the B&W photo since Tim is always in the back of Mary's mind. Posted by Picasa

Foggy shapes

Mary took a lot of delight in calling me early the other day to alert me to foggy conditions, per my request a while back. Here are some of the shots I got. Mostly they are about shapes, and not really what I had in mind. I think I need a foggy morning that is sunny..
