25th anniversary at the beach

We took the afternoon off and went down to the beach for some shopping and dinner, and, of course, photos. I liked this one best. Yeah, I was strobing it. Flash to the right, sun to the left.

Love is in the air: Snakes at Bombay Hook

There was a snake fest going on today. They weren't upset at all that several of us were nearby watching to taking pics. I counted at least 14 seperate snakes in the area based on counting heads that I was sure weren't already counted.

On the Occasion of the 19th anniversary of my 29th birthday

Just messin around with flash, working on the relationship between flash and ambient light. Still got a ways to go to have that nailed, but this is a decent shot of me.

Mandatory Shots from Rehoboth Beach

Pretty much if you go to the beach area, you are required by law to take photos of the observation towers from WWII and of the Lighthouse. It's unwritten, but a law just the same.

I took this at Cape Henlopen state park, just at dusk. I was going for gold on the water sky. I like this.

Raptors at Bombay Hook

Bombay Hook did their shorebird thing today. One of the displays was live raptors being kept at a facility in Maryland. These are birds that can't be returned to the wild for one reason or another.

This is a Screech owl about 6 inches tall. She looked like a toy till she moved. The red is from people standing behind her in red shirts.

How's that for a close up! This is a female Red Tailed hawk. Her other eye is missing!

This owl never quite fully opened her eyes. I like her sitting in front of the hawk to the right side of the frame.

I liked how the feathers are whorled around the eye.

Silver lake Park, after the flooding

This photo doesn't look anything like a post-partially-flooded park. It's got an ethereal feel with pretty colors and shapes.

100 Strangers project, Strobist Lunch in the park shots

This is O'Dongo Lewis, President of the Biker Brothas motorcycle club. I've seen him in Silver Lake park with his cool motorcycle. I approached him today about doing some photos, and he was happy to do it. I think they came out pretty good! Dongo is the first person in my 100 strangers project. I hope they're all this cool!
