I'm in a state of flux now as far as scanning goes. I scanned these with an Epson V500. It's a little time consuming, but not that bad to do once you figure it out. I've also tried getting photos scanned by ScanCafe.com. That's realllllllllly slow. I haven't gotten my first group of scans back from them yet, though it should be soon. I've been getting some film developed at Photoworkssf.com and they do scanning at several different resolutions and prices, ranging from 3 bucks a roll for web size scans to 8 or 9 bucks a roll for print size scans.
If I'm not at Chipotle, or thinking about it, I spend way too much time with my camera, or on the net learning about and talking about photography. You might as well benefit from all that time!
